Entrepreneurship and equity are key players in supporting our student and alumni community to help them thrive. Thanks to your support, NSCC Alumni Relations has:
- Hosted NSCC’s fourth annual Ask a Black Entrepreneur Panel featuring three NSCC alumni entrepreneurs.
- Sponsored tuition for the Start-Up Accelerator Program for alumni entrepreneurs.
- Partnered with alumni entrepreneur Tia Upshaw (ALP '06) of Blk Women in Excellence to fund the Entrepreneur-in-the-Making (EITM) Black and African Nova Scotian Cohort, supporting eight Black and African Nova Scotian female entrepreneurs who are current NSCC students or recent alumni.
- Continued our annual Shop NSCC programming that supports and promotes NSCC alumni businesses throughout the holiday season with a curated list of gift ideas from talented alumni across the province.
- Funded reprint costs for Mi'kmaq and Indigenous alumni who want to have their credential translated into the Mi'kmaw language.
