A message of gratitude
Your contributions to NSCC make an impact like no other. As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with profound gratitude for TD Insurance's ongoing support and generosity.
Thanks to our incredible partnership with TD Insurance, we’ve been able to strategically prioritize funding using our Alumni Engagement Fund. This has enabled us to provide financial awards to students and offer accessible, low-to-no-cost professional development and social events for both students and alumni. The funding supported a wide range of initiatives focused on career readiness, entrepreneurship and deepening their connection with NSCC.
In this report, you will find inspiring highlights from the past year, showcasing the tangible outcomes of your support. Because of you, NSCC Alumni Relations:
- Continue to support annual student awards, such as the Alumni Legacy Awards for each campus and additional awards, providing $16.5K in financial awards that supported 17 students this past year.
- Supported 32 events with 50-100% reduced costs for students and alumni to attend.
- Granted a total of $93.8K internally to support student and alumni initiatives.
- Funds the reprint costs for Mi’kmaq and Indigenous alumni who want to have their credentials translated into the Mi’kmaw language.
- Sponsors NSCC career fairs and showcases such as Spark Creativity and the COGS Industry Expo.
- Hosted 21 Alumni Receptions at convocations across the province, and increased our funding to $89K for convocations - supporting the Alumni Receptions, photography and cultural elements.
- Holds events like Alumni Farm Fun Day at Noggins and Alumni Night with Thunderbird Lacrosse at reduced costs for students and alumni.
Your impact is immeasurable. We're incredibly grateful to be able to engage students and NSCC's alumni community with events, support for their education and careers, thanks to our partnership with TD Insurance.
We are committed to enhancing learning experiences at the College and look forward to exploring ongoing opportunities to deepen our impact on students and alumni across the province, together.
With deep appreciation and warm regards,
