Alumni engagement and support
Thanks to our incredible alumni community, the Alumni Engagement Fund supports a wide range of student and alumni initiatives focused on career readiness and growth, as well as deepening their connection and engagement with NSCC. Given the tough economic landscape, we’ve strategically prioritized funding to provide financial awards for students and accessible low-to-no-cost professional development and events.
A few examples include:
- Supporting annual student awards such as Alumni Legacy Awards for each campus.
- Funding the reprint costs for Mi’kmaq and Indigenous alumni who want to have their credential translated into the Mi’kmaw language.
- Sponsoring NSCC career fairs and showcases such as Spark Creativity.
- Funding 21 Convocation Alumni Receptions across the province.
- Supporting entrepreneurial initiatives like NSCC’s Ask a Black Entrepreneur Panel, the Start-Up Accelerator Program and our annual Shop NSCC programming.
- Hosting events like Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Webinar, Alumni Farm Fun Day at Noggins and Alumni Night with Thunderbird Lacrosse.
