Strategic Plan highlights
Human rights, equity, inclusion, accessibility and anti-racism (HREIAA)
- Equipping up to 50 spaces at Sydney Waterfront Campus with assistive hearing technology.
- Partnering with our Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion team to launch 2SLGBTQIA+ bursaries.
Evolving social landscape
- Working with NSCC’s Black and African Nova Scotian Employee Resource Network to create new awards that honour Black and African Nova Scotian community leaders.
- Partnering with Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency to advance skilled trades in Nova Scotia through Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursaries, College and Job Readiness Funds and Youth Skilled Trades Camps.
Sustainable impact
- Expanding core programming through industry partnerships, such as RBC Foundation’s $700K gift to the Electrical Technician program to offer expanded wind turbine training.
- Expanding pilot programs to sustainable offerings for areas of ongoing need, such as the provincial NSCC Emergency Housing program.
Student and alumni centred
- Evolving support and recognition for NSCC alumni through the launch of the NSCC Alumni Awards.
- Expanding awards programs to include students in part-time studies and on accommodated course reductions to respond to changing student needs.
